SALISBURY, MD: In conjunction with the Baltimore Orioles, the Delmarva Shorebirds are set to add three players from the Orioles’ 2026 draft class next week. The trio of draftees coming to Delmarva includes: OF Eric Booth Jr. (1st Round), OF Ty Head (2nd Round), and SS Jimmy Anderson (5th Round).

Eric Booth Jr. was selected with the 7th overall pick by the Orioles out of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Booth Jr. was regarded as one of the best players in the 2026 high school class and was ranked the No. 4 overall prospect by Perfect Game and the No. 1 outfielder. He is the highest-drafted player by Baltimore since the Orioles selected Jackson Holliday with the No. 1 overall pick in 2022.

Ty Head was selected in the 2nd round with the 46th overall pick from North Carolina State. He was the first of three college bats selected by the Orioles. He joins the organization after two years with the Wolfpack, where he led NC State’s offense with 14 home runs in 2026 and set a program record for walks in a single season with 57, compared to only 22 strikeouts. Head was named the best center fielder in college baseball by the American Baseball Coaches Association, earning a Gold Glove. He did not commit a single error this past season on 133 chances.

Jimmy Anderson was Baltimore’s 5th-round pick, selected 142nd overall out of Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois. The Orioles previously selected Anderson in the 19th round of the 2025 draft, but he elected to return to school, where he put together one of the best offensive seasons in program history. He hit a school-record 26 home runs, batted .456, drove in 88 runs, and finished the year with an OPS of 1.574. Anderson was a high school teammate of former Shorebird and current Orioles prospect Nate George.
