Dreiling homers twice, Riders' bullpen shines in 7-1 win

FRISCO, Texas (August 15, 2026) - Dylan Dreiling hammered two more home runs as the Frisco RoughRiders bullpen starred in a 7-1 win over the San Antonio Missions Saturday night at Riders Field to secure at least a series split.

In the first inning, San Antonio (20-24, 51-62) struck on a solo home run from Tirso Ornelas to take a 1-0 lead against Cole Stasio. But in the bottom half, Dreiling evened the score against Matthew Watson (0-3) with a solo shot of his own for Frisco (23-21, 62-50).

The 1-1 score held until the fourth inning, when Rafe Perich teed off on a solo home run to plant Frisco in front for the first time, 2-1.

After two runs in the fifth inning, including an RBI double from Sebastian Walcott, Frisco had a 4-1 lead. Brock Porter (1-0) and Ben Detaeye helped hold on to that advantage with six combined scoreless innings in their Double-A debuts.

With a chance to add on in the eighth, Dreiling golfed a high drive to deep center field and cleared the fence for his second long ball of the game – a three-run blast that made it 7-1 RoughRiders for good.

Notes to Know:

• With four home runs in his last three games, Dreiling now has 21 on the year, the most for a RoughRider since Blaine Crim’s 24 in 2022 and the second-most by an outfielder in recorded franchise history. The center fielder has hit 13 of his home runs in the second half, the third-highest mark in the Texas League.

• A night after the Riders allowed 12 runs on 15 hits, they surrendered just the one run on six hits. Joey Danielson, Porter, Detaeye and Janser Lara combined to cover all nine innings in Frisco’s second-consecutive bullpen game.

• Perich now owns 24 home runs on the season, the most by any Rangers’ minor league bat. He has hit 13 in Frisco after knocking out 11 with High-A Hub City.

After two straight wins, the RoughRiders lead the series heading into Sunday, seeking a third consecutive victory with LHP Blake Townsend (4-5, 5.00) on the hill against RHP Ian Koenig (5-9, 4.47) in a 6:05 p.m. start from Riders Field.
