Perich, Lee Sang homer in lopsided Frisco win

SPRINGDALE, Arkansas (August 26, 2026) - After falling in the series opener, the Frisco RoughRiders responded with an 11-2 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Wednesday night at Arvest Ballpark.

Frisco (26-27, 65-56) loaded the bases against Felix Arronde (5-6) in the first inning and took a 1-0 lead on an RBI walk from Yeison Morrobel. The Riders made it 3-0 against the Northwest Arkansas (22-31, 51-69) starter with RBIs from Corey Joyce and Luke Hanson in the third.

Then, Frisco struck for four runs in the fourth, punctuated by a two-run home run off the bat of Rafe Perich. After four scoreless innings from D.J. McCarty in his start, Marcus Lee Sang launched a home run in the fifth that made it 8-0 Frisco.

The Naturals plated two runs in the seventh against Zach Bryant (3-3), but the right gave Frisco three innings and a career-high 55 pitches. The Riders offense backed him up with three runs in the ninth inning, including another hit from Lee Sang, to take the 11-2 lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Notes to Know:

• Perich’s home run was his 26th on the season, the most that any Rangers minor league bat has hit over the last two seasons. He passed Abimelec Ortiz’s 25 home runs hit between Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock last year.

• Dylan Dreiling extended the Texas League’s longest hitting streak of the season to 18 games with two singles and Morrobel had two hits and two walks to extend his hitting streak to eight games.

• Lee Sang now has 14 home runs on the season, a new Double-A career high.

Frisco has evened the series at a game apiece and will look for its first lead Thursday night, handing the ball to LHP Dylan MacLean (7-4, 4.76) against LHP Hunter Owen (3-6, 6.45) in a 7:05 p.m. start at Arvest Ballpark.
