FRISCO, Texas (April 24, 2026) - Former Frisco RoughRiders pitcher Peyton Gray made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers on Thursday, April 23, in their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates from Globe Life Field. He is the second player in 2026 who will go on the Road to the Show wall, driven by Advondale Dealerships, joining Gavin Collyer.

Gray pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a 6-1 Rangers win and logged his first career MLB strikeout.

The Columbus, Ind. native was promoted from Triple-A Round Rock to make his debut after starting the season with seven scoreless appearances and two saves. The right-hander had struck out 15 in 12.2 innings, while walking just two.

A product of Florida Gulf Coast, Gray pitched seven times for Frisco in 2025, his lone season in the Metroplex, after spending time after 2021 playing independent and foreign baseball. He struck out 21 Texas Leaguers with a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings pitched before earning a promotion to Round Rock.

An original nondrafted free agent by Kansas City in 2021, Gray spent five seasons in Minor League Baseball before making his MLB debut.

Gray is the 227th player in RoughRiders franchise history to make the major leagues.
