Greater Nevada Field is following in the steps of the Arizona Diamondbacks in establishing heightened security measures. We would like to remind you that these enhanced security measures might delay your entrance into the ballpark. Plan on arriving early to enjoy the game. These measures are for your safety. We understand that this may be an inconvenience, however due to the nature of current world events, we feel they are necessary. Thank you for your patience.

Metal Detectors FAQ

Q: Why is Greater Nevada Field using metal detectors?

A: MLB, MiLB and the Reno Aces value your safety! The league and our team work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to implement enhanced security procedures that make this ballpark, and others nationwide, safer for all fans.

Q: What can I expect when I arrive at the gate?

A: Signage will guide you to each gate. You will first be instructed to walk through the metal detector. If the alarm triggers, you will be directed to secondary security for additional screening.

Next, gate security will ask you to remove keys, cell phones, and other large metal objects and place them in the provided bin. Bags will also be checked before you proceed further.

Once you clear security, you may have your ticket scanned to enter the ballpark.

Q: Will I need to arrive earlier than usual?

A: No. We are making every effort to ensure enhanced procedures do not slow down entry. However, fans are always welcome to arrive early to enjoy the sights and sounds of Greater Nevada Field.

Q: What is the Clear Bag Policy?

A: Fan safety is our top priority at Greater Nevada Field. To help ensure a safe, efficient entry process and an enjoyable fan experience, the Reno Aces have adopted a Clear Bag Policy.

Each fan may bring: One clear bag (plastic, vinyl, or PVC) no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", or one one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (such as a Ziploc), and/or one small clutch purse (5" x 7", with or without a handle or strap).

All bags are subject to search. See the full list of approved and prohibited bags HERE. Using clear bags helps reduce wait times at the gates.

Guests carrying unapproved bags will be asked to return them to their vehicle, as Greater Nevada Field does not provide storage for unapproved items.

Q: What if I arrive with a mobility device?

A: All gates are accessible for guests with mobility devices.

Q: What if I have a pacemaker or other medical implant?

A: Metal detectors are safe for pregnant women, children, and guests with pacemakers. They operate at a very low electromagnetic frequency — lower than exposure from a cell phone or garage door opener. Detectors meet international technical and medical standards. The risk of disruption is negligible, but if you are concerned, please notify gate security upon arrival.

Q: What if a medical implant sets off the detector?

A: Fans may be subject to additional screening, including hand-wand scans, if an alarm is triggered.

Q: Will my children have to go through the metal detector?

A: Yes, all fans entering the ballpark are required to walk through the metal detector. Parents may carry infants or toddlers. Children old enough to walk may be asked to go through on their own.

Q: Can I bring my pocketknife?

A: No. Weapons of any kind, including knives, are prohibited. Pocketknives must be returned to your vehicle, as Greater Nevada Field does not store personal items.

Q: I have a concealed carry permit; can I bring my firearm?

A: No. Firearms and other weapons are not permitted, even for concealed or open carry license holders. Only active Federal or Nevada State law enforcement officers with verified credentials may carry firearms inside the ballpark.

Q: What about my constitutional right to carry a weapon?

A: Greater Nevada Field is a privately operated facility, and private operators may establish rules regarding permissible activities and items. The ballpark is a weapons-free facility, except for authorized Federal or Nevada State law enforcement officers.
