Trayce Thompson is more than just the Thompson brother that plays baseball instead of basketball. The brother of Klay, a perennial NBA All Star and three-time champ, and son of two-time NBA champ Mychal comes to Reno in 2021 with a resume of his own.

Thompson was a second-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 2009, making his MLB debut in 2015. That season, Thompson played in 44 games and posted a strong rookie campaign – slashing .295/.363/.533 with five home runs and 16 RBIs.

After the 2015 season, Thompson spent two years with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In two seasons, Thompson was a part of a team that won two NL West titles and winning the NL Pennant in 2017. 2016 featured a career-best 13 home runs and 32 RBIs in 80 games, the most big league games played in a season for Thompson.

In his big league career, Thompson has appeared in 202 games and boasts 110 hits to go alongside 22 homers and 59 RBIs.

In 2019 with the Columbus Clippers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, Thompson appeared in 89 games and hit 24 homers. On the season, he posted a .482 slugging percentage – just short of a career best .486 posted in Single-A back in the 2012 season.

Thompson brings more than just star power to the Aces in 2021. The outfielder brings serious big league experience, and is coming off a 2019 season spent mashing the ball with the most power he’s shown in his career. Greater Nevada Field will be in for plenty of excitement and plenty of pop from Thompson in 2021.
