The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed RHP Eduardo Jiménez and LHP Kyle Crockett to minor-league contracts and have assigned them to Triple-A Reno. Jimenez received an invite Major League Spring Training. Here's what you need to know about the new additions.
RHP 6'2"/225 - Eduardo Jimenez - Age: 24
Eduardo Jimenez originally signed with the Detroit Tigers as an international free agent at just 16-years- old out of Venezuela in 2011. Since then, he's spent the last eight seasons with the franchise going 13-16 with a 2.98 ERA over 120 games in the minor leagues. He's primarily been a reliever and saved 36 games in 45 chances during that span.
He made his Major League debut in May of 2019 with the Tigers appearing in eight games and throwing 10.2 innings compiling a 5.91 ERA. Jimenez was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo in October and elected Free Agency in early November.
"He's got a good arm, good fastball and his slider has good tilt to it," Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire told the Detroit News when Jimenez was called up last season.

LHP 6'2"/175 Kyle Crockett - Age: 27
Kyle Crockett was drafted in the fourth-round of the 2013 MLB draft out of the University of Virginia by the Cleveland Indians. He owned a 1.98 ERA in college, good for second all-time in Virginia history for qualified pitchers.
The lefty ascended quickly through the Indians' system making his MLB debut in June of 2014. He was the first player in the 2013 draft to reach the Majors. In his first full season in the bigs, he went 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA in 43 games pitched out of the bullpen. Batters hit just .239 off him during his rookie year and he struck out 28 over 30.0 innings pitched.
Since then, he's swung back and forth between Triple-A and the Majors. He owns a 12-7 record with a 3.05 ERA over his Minor League career in 185 games pitched. At the big-league level, he has a 5-1 record with a 3.74 ERA over 122 games pitched.

Crockett was designated for assignment by Cleveland in 2017 and claimed by the Cincinnati Reds in 2018. He elected free agency after the 2018 season and signed with the Oakland Athletics but was released in March of 2019 and did not pitch this past year.
He's known for keeping the ball in the ballpark, something that could really help Reno in 2020. He's only allowed 15 home runs in 269.1 innings pitched during his professional career.
