Blue Jays recall Moises Sierra
The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled OF MOISES SIERRA from the Buffalo Bisons. Toronto also announced that RHP THAD WEBER has been optioned to the Herd.
The Bisons have their final off day of the regular season on Wednesday. The club has ONLY 6 HOME GAMES LEFT in the 2013 season and will host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday, August 22 at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.).
SIERRA played 100 games with the Bisons this season and hit .261 (99-379) with 18 doubles, five triples, 11 home runs and 51 RBI. He scored 57 runs (T2nd on the Bisons) and was 12 of 16 in stolen bases (4th on club).
WEBER returns to the Bisons where he has posted a 6-4 record and a 2.63 ERA in 15 games and 12 starts with the club. He has walked only 17 batters in 82.0 innings with the Herd and has collected 69 strikeouts. Nine of his 12 starts for Buffalo were 'quality starts,' second-best on the team.
