SUMMARY

The Senators were shut out for the tenth time this season in game one Friday night 7-0 by the Somerset Patriots. Harrisburg managed just four hits, two by Jake Alu, and had just one runner reach third base. Somerset had a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning then plated five runs in the final two innings.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Mario Sanchez pitched into the sixth inning, going 5.2 innings. He allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out five.

Bryan Dobzanski finished the game going 1.1 innings and allowing two runs on two hits.

WITH THE GAVEL

Jake Alu had two hits in his Double-A debut.

FILIBUSTERS

Harrisburg was shut out for the tenth time this season. With the loss in game one, they are now 0-6 in doubleheader games.

GAME 2 - Senators 5 Somerset 2

SUMMARY

The Senators bounced back after being shutout in game one Friday night to beat Somerset 5-2 in game two. Five different Senators had two hits to pace the Senators 11 hit attack. The teams have split the first four games of the series.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Tim Cate started and sailed through three frames allowing two hits while striking out four. However, in the fourth, he ran into trouble allowing a couple runs while walking three. He left after 3.1 innings of work.

Jhon Romero inherited a bases-loaded one out situation in the fourth and threw one pitch and induced a double play. He went 2.2 scoreless innings for the win.

Frankie Bartow pitched a perfect seventh inning for his ninth save.

WITH THE GAVEL

Aldrem Corredor had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

Kyle Marinconz singled, doubled and scored twice.

KJ Harrison had two hits including a double and drove in a run.

Osvaldo Duarte had two hits in the game.

Jakson Reetz doubled and singled and drove in a run.

FILIBUSTERS

With their eleven hits the Sens raised their team batting average to a season high .210 at the conclusion of the game. With the win the Senators have won 7 of their past 12 games. It was their first win in a doubleheader game. Eight of the nine players on the field for the Senators were either drafted or originally signed by the Nationals.
