The Eastern League announced today that Harrisburg Senators outfielder Adam Brett Walker has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of May 28 to June 3. The 26-year-old is the third Senator to win player or pitcher of the week honors this season. This is the sixth time in four different leagues that Walker has been named player of the week across his seven minor league seasons.
Walker hit .364 (8 for 22) with two home runs, two triples, one double, five runs, three walks and an .864 slugging percentage across seven games during the week. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native became the first Senators player this season to hit two triples in the same game on June 2 against Portland. Walker reached base safely on either a hit or a walk in all seven games and had an RBI in five out of the seven. He was the Eastern League weekly leader in slugging percentage (.864), OPS (1.308), triples (2) and tied for the lead in home runs (2) and extra base hits (5).
Adam, who is batting .286 (10 for 35) with three home runs and eight RBI in 12 games with the Senators this season, his first with the club, was signed by the Washington Nationals as a minor league free agent on May 23, 2018. He was originally selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 3rd round of the 2012 draft from Jacksonville University.
