Beloved by baseball fans throughout New Jersey and minor league baseball, Rookie was a key contributor to the Bisons success while playing the first half of their home schedule at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. Rookie (@BatDogRookie on twitter and Instagram) will once again be put to work by the Herd, retrieving bats for his Bisons teammates early in the club’s game against the IronPigs. Rookie is the Thunder's Third Generation Bat Dog following in the Paw Steps of his Grandfather Chase, and his father Derby. The story of all 3 Bat Dogs was told in the Emmy Nominated ESPN E-60 segment "The Family Business".

All dogs are admitted for FREE at Bisons Dog Days and can sit with their owners in Sections 124, 126 and 128 on the first base side of the ballpark. Fans with dogs are asked to enter Sahlen Field through the Seneca St. Gate only.

The Bisons final five-game homestand is part of the Triple-A baseball’s “Final Stretch,” a 30-team 10-game playoff where the club with the overall best record will collect a special prize from Major League Baseball. Along with the Dog Day on September 22, the team will host a Honda fridaynightbash!® with Fireworks on September 24 that will also serve as this year’s Fan Appreciation Night. The homestand also includes an appearance by Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act and a postgame Kids Run the Bases on Saturday, September 25.
