MIDLAND, Texas (May 6, 2023) - Owen White tossed a quality start, but the Frisco RoughRiders dropped game five of the six-game series to the Midland RockHounds 5-4 in 10 innings on Saturday night from Momentum Bank Ballpark.

White threw six innings, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out five and walking two, but the Frisco (13-13) bullpen could not hold their late lead.

The Riders jumped out in front early when Luisangel Acuña lifted a solo home run to right in the first, his second of the season, to make it 1-0.

Acuña then added on in the third with an RBI double and Kellen Strahm punched a two-run single to right, pushing the advantage to 4-0.

The RockHounds (14-12) found the scoreboard in the fourth inning on a two-run homer from Logan Davidson and scored a run in the seventh and eighth to tie the game.

In the top of the ninth, Frisco had back-to-back singles from Thomas Saggese and Strahm to put two aboard with no one out, but Jax Biggers popped up a bunt that turned into a triple play, ending the inning.

In the bottom of the 10th, Darell Hernaiz singled Lawrence Butler home with the winning run against Theo McDowell (0-2).

Chase Cohen (3-0) earned the win for the RockHounds, throwing two scoreless innings in relief.

The RoughRiders conclude their series against Midland on Sunday, May 7th at 1:00 p.m. RHP Wyatt Sparks (0-0, 0.00) starts for the RoughRiders against RHP Joey Estes (0-3, 4.71).
