Senators Fall in Tight Game, RubberDucks Take Series Lead with 2-1 Win

LHP DJ Herz started for Harrisburg in his second rehab outing with the Sens. He tossed two scoreless innings.
After a leadoff single in the third for the RubberDucks, RHP Blake Brown came on in relief of Herz and pitched a scoreless frame. He allowed a hit and struck out one.
The Senators did not get their first baserunner until the fourth and were held in check through the first six innings of the game.
LHP Josh Hartle (L, 4-5) came on in the fourth. After two scoreless innings, the RubberDucks took the lead in the sixth.
Akron led off with a double and an infield single. Dean Curley's RBI single and Jake Fox' sac fly put the Sens in a 2-0 hole.
Red-hot Ethan Petry led off for Harrisburg in the seventh with a 111-miles-per-hour homer to left-centerfield to cut the deficit to 2-1. Petry's homered in four straight games and five times in the last eight games.
Caleb Lomavita and TJ White followed the homer with back-to-back singles but were stranded on base to end the inning.
Hartle came back out for the seventh and retired the side in order on just seven pitches. The left-hander went four innings, allowing the two runs on four hits, a walk and four strikeouts.
The Senators put the tying run aboard again in the eighth with Devin Fitz-Gerald's one-out walk. He was stranded in scoring position to end the inning.
RHP Ben Grable came on for the bottom of the eighth. He walked the leadoff hitter but struck out the next three for a scoreless frame.
The RubberDucks' Zach Jacobs (S, 2) came on for the save and retired the Sens in order to close the win.
Harrisburg aims to tie the series back up Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 7:17 p.m. RHP Jack Cebert (2-3) is slated to start.
