Senators Take Back-and-Forth Game from RubberDucks, Even Series with 8-7 Win

Branden Boissiere opened the scoring with a two-out solo homer in the first.
In the second, the Sens placed six straight runners on base to score four runs.
Kevin Bazzell scored the first of the runs on an errant throw from Akron's Jaison Chourio. Nick Mitchell drove in TJ White with a single. Then Devin Fitz-Gerald scored Kervin Pichardo with a single. Elijah Green's fielder's choice groundball later in the inning brought home Cortland Lawson to stretch the lead to 5-0.
RHP Jack Cebert started on the mound for Harrisburg. He retired the first five hitters of the game but faced trouble in the second.
After striking out the first two hitters of the inning, Cebert issued four straight walks and a wild pitch to score two runs. The Senators led 5-2.
RHP Joe Glassey followed with a one-two-three third inning. He struck out one.
RHP Isaac Lyon (W, 6-4) came on in the fourth. After a scoreless first inning of work, the RubberDucks rallied for the lead in the fifth on Aaron Walton's RBI single and a three-run homer from Nolan Schubart.
Akron led 6-5.
Pichardo responded with a leadoff homer in the seventh, a high fly ball to the leftfield corner, to tie the game 6-6.
The score held until the seventh when Jace LaViolette homered to the opposite field to put the 'Ducks back in front 7-6.
Pichardo jumpstarted a rally in the eighth with a leadoff double up the leftfield line. Cortland Lawson singled him home to tie the game 7-7. Lawson advanced to second on a play at the plate and to third on a balk.
With the infielders drawn in, Nick Mitchell punched a single through the left side of the infield to score Lawson as the go-ahead run and put the Sens back in front 8-7.
RHP Luke Young retired the side in order in the eighth to hold the score.
Then RHP Robert Cranz (S, 2) locked down the win with a one-two-three ninth inning, and the Senators won 8-7.
Harrisburg looks to take the series lead Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (0-3) is slated to start.
