Senators Pitching Holds Baysox to One Run, Harrisburg Opens Series with 2-1 Win

BOWIE, Md. (Aug. 4, 2026) — Four Senators pitches combined to hold the Baysox to just one run on five hits, holding on to win 2-1 Tuesday night. RHP Isaac Lyon (W, 5-4) led the way, allowing just one run in 6.2 innings.

Lyon's earned the winning decision in five of his last eight starts, allowing two runs or fewer in each game of the stretch. Tuesday, he scattered five hits and two walks while striking out two.

The Sens bullpen followed with 2.1 hitless innings, walking two and striking out five.

Harrisburg scored first on Kervin Pichardo's homer to lead off the second inning, jumping in front 1-0.

In the third, TJ White tripled to lead off the inning, but the Senators couldn't bring him in. Overall, Harrisburg went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.

Chesapeake tied the game in the fourth. Thomas Sosa doubled to lead off and advanced to third on Wehiwa Aloy's single to centerfield. Johnathon Thomas' throw to the cutoff bounced past Ethan Petry, advancing Aloy to second. Caleb Lomavita attempted to nab Aloy at second, but his throw sailed high into the outfield, bringing Sosa in to tie the game 1-1.

Aloy advanced to third on a groundball for the first out. He tried to score on a groundball to Cortland Lawson who made a perfect throw home. Lomavita caught the runner going back to third on a throw to Devin Ortiz.

The Sens took the lead back in the seventh after back-to-back singles and a balk put men on second and third with no outs. With one out, Thomas grounded to short, and Sam Brown scored, beating the shortstop's throw to take a 2-1 lead.

RHP Luke Young followed Lyon with 0.1 scoreless, walking one and striking out one.

RHP Jhancarlos Lara added a scoreless eighth. He walked one and struck out two.

Then RHP Sandy Gaston (S, 2) closed the game. He retired the side in order, striking out two.

Harrisburg and Chesapeake play a doubleheader Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. LHP Alex Clemmey (3-5) and RHP Blake Brown (0-0) are the scheduled starters.
