Curve's Five-Run Fourth Inning Leads the Way to 7-3 Win Over Senators

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 2, 2026) — The Senators scored first before the Curve scored seven unanswered runs en route to a 7-3 win. The series is even at a game apiece.
In the bottom of the first, Nick Mitchell drew a leadoff walk. With one out, Branden Boissiere doubled in the left-centerfield gap to drive in Mitchell and take an early 1-0 lead.
The score held until the third when Jesus Castillo hit a two-run homer off RHP Josh Randall (L, 4-6) to put Altoona in front 2-1.
The Curve led the rest of the way, putting up five runs in the fourth to pad the lead. The Sens trailed 7-1.
Randall allowed the seven runs, five earned, in four innings on six hits, two walks, a hit batsman and two strikeouts.
Major League rehabber RHP Josiah Gray was first in relief for Harrisburg. He pitched a scoreless fifth inning on just nine pitches.
The Senators scored again in the bottom of the fifth. Mitchell singled with one out and came around to score on an error.
In the seventh, Mitchell drove in Cortland Lawson with a two-out single to cut the Curve lead to 7-3.
Mitchell went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. After his single in the sixth, Altoona retired the next 10 Harrisburg hitters straight to end the game.
RHP Eriq Swan tossed 1.1 scoreless innings. RHP Kendeglys Virguez retired with 1.2 shutout frames.
RHP Thomas Schultz worked around a two-out double for a scoreless ninth inning.
Game three of the series comes Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. LHP Josh Hartle (4-5) has the start.
