RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces (8–7) will return to Greater Nevada Field after splitting a six-game road series against the Salt Lake Bees. Reno will host the Round Rock Express (7–8), the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, for a six-game series beginning Tuesday, April 15. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PST.
Round Rock is coming off a home series loss to the Oklahoma City Comets, dropping four out of six games. Both teams were competitive in 2024. Round Rock won the season series by a single game, taking six of the 11 matchups.
Notable players on Round Rock’s roster include first baseman Blaine Crim and infielder Justin Foscue.
Crim, a 27-year-old selected by Texas in the 19th round of the 2019 draft, has been on a tear to start the 2025 campaign. He leads the Pacific Coast League in hits (23) and ranks second in batting average (.397). Crim also leads his team with nine extra-base hits this season, including six doubles, a triple, and two home runs. The Alabama native went 6-for-21 (.286) with a double and a home run in Round Rock’s recent series against Oklahoma City. He was a problem for Reno last season, going 10-for-36 with three doubles, a home run, and a team-high nine RBI. Slowing down Crim’s bat will be important for the Aces this week.
Foscue, the Rangers’ No. 15 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has also made an impact for Round Rock. The 26-year-old is slashing .327/.415/.436 with three doubles, one home run, and seven RBI. He also found success against Reno in 2024, batting 8-for-21 (.381) with two doubles, a home run, and four RBI. The former first-round pick led Round Rock offensively against the Comets this past week, slashing .333/.464/.381 with a double, three RBI, and six walks. He’s another key hitter the Aces will need to keep in check.
Jorge Barrosa heads into the homestand against Round Rock swinging a hot bat. He went 9-for-26 (.346) with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, and six walks in the series against Salt Lake. The switch-hitter has been one of Reno’s most impactful hitters this season, consistently coming through in key moments. Barrosa is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, going 10-for-31 (.323) with three doubles, two home runs, and 10 RBI during that stretch. He also hit well against Round Rock in 2024, slashing .389/.389/.889 with four extra-base hits and five RBI. Look for Barrosa to continue his electric start to the season in the upcoming series.
